Who are These People?

It has been a while since I've posted on the strange search strings which have brought readers to our gates. Checking the logs this morning, two distinguish themselves as worthy of reproduction.

...because what could the person who typed these three words possibly have been looking for? Were they in search of our friend Emily or some other Emily whose identity might be fixed by the triangulation of these words?

In thirty minutes I am leaving for Massachusetts, where I will visit with my two sisters and one mother. I have gotten so used to shuttling from state to state in recent days that I cannot be content to remain in Maryland for more than 48 hours. This is probably a good time to note that we will be heading to England at the end of next week for two weeks in a long boat with 9 people. The boat is six feet wide and 70 feet long. It moves 4 miles per hour. We will be traveling through canals that look like this.

Oddly enough my world traveling grandmother sent me a cd with my birthday package titled "Two Weeks in a Canal Boat". I have yet to pop it into my computer to see what it is (I assume pictures). Your blog has pushed me to take the time tonight to check it out.
I thank you.

At first read, I thought that you were taking a narrowboat from Maryland to England. Across the ocean. That would be a long journey. At four miles an hour, it would work out to almost 40 days. I would hope they have plenty of supplies to make butter burritos.

Robbi,
I no you do not know me but i went to school years ago with your sister Maiko. I have very much enjoyed checking out your site and enjoy reading about your adventures in Alaska as I know you and your family have spent 30+ summers there. I don't know if Maiko remembers me but please tell her I was asking for her. She and your father and mother still look the same as I remember them. You seem to have a very adventerous life and look so happy. I lost my mother to cancer 6/29/07 and looking at the pics of you and your mother and family gave me a smile today.
